Louis V. DeMarco Jr., 66, of the 700 block of Roundbay Road, died Feb. 4, 1997, in a local hospital.
A retired master pest control technician and an entrepreneur, he had retired after 20 years of service in the U.S. Navy. He was a Philadelphia native and member of St. Matthews Catholic Church. He was a loving husband and father. He was a rock and an island, everything to everybody.
Survivors include his wife, Margie G. DeMarco; daughter, Donna Davidson of Lakeland, Fla.; two stepdaughters, Nita Albury and her husband, James, of Lakeland and Betty Cartonia of Portsmouth; two sons, Louis Vincent DeMarco III and his wife, Rebecca, of Norfolk and James P. DeMarco and his wife, Katherine, of Chesapeake; stepson, Ray Wicker and his wife, Carolyn, of Chesapeake; two sisters, Delores Gray of Philadelphia and JoAnne Bonifazi of New Jersey; brother, Joseph DeMarco of Philadelphia; four grandchildren, Jackie, James, Zena and Kelly, all of Chesapeake; great-grandchild, Zachary, of Norfolk; and numerous stepgrandchildren; and aunt, Josephine Vernacchio of Philadelphia.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in St. Matthews Catholic Church by Father Timothy Drake. Burial will be in Rosewood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Chapel, from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.
