EARL T. MATTHEWS

Earl Thomas ``Mouse'' Matthews, 82, of the 800 block of W. Constance Road died Feb. 5, 1997, in Sentara Nursing Center, Norfolk.

A retired electrician for Dana Hale Electric, Mr. Matthews was a Suffolk native and member of First Baptist Church, Suffolk. He was a volunteer fireman for 32 years with the Suffolk Fire Department and was a charter member and former dispatcher for the Nansemond-Suffolk Rescue Squad.

Survivors include his sister, Mable M. Lowrimore, and husband, Ray S. Lowrimore of Virginia Beach; nieces, Deborah H. Lowrimore and Barbara Mullin; two nephews, Ray S. Lowrimore and William Roy Mullin. He was predeceased by his parents, Ada Joyner and George Marion Matthews.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Cedar Hill Cemetery by the Rev. Charles W. Thompson. The family will greet friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today in Hill Funeral Home.
