124 OF 185 INFOLINE RESPONDENTS AGREE WITH VERDICT IN SIMPSON TRIAL

Readers of Wednesday's Pilot were invited to call INFOLINE with their verdicts on the verdict in the O.J. Simpson civil trial. Of the 185 calls received, 124 agreed with the jury and 61 disagreed.

Here's what some readers had to say:

Agree:

``I think he finally got what was coming to him. He's a murderer.''

Virginia Morrill, Norfolk

``I do believe he is guilty and that he will have more than money to pay one day.''

Judy Sweetland,

Virginia Beach

``It is very possible for a person with a charismatic personality to have a dark side. It doesn't matter whether O.J. was purple, Nicole was green and Ron Goldman was Williamsburg blue. In this trial, the shoes fit.''

Sandy Hess, Smithfield

``I absolutely agree. This is the verdict that should have been given in the first trial. He is just absolutely, 100 percent guilty.''

Peggy Graham,

Virginia Beach

``The verdict is overdue. He should be in prison.''

Betty Freeland, Norfolk

``I think the verdict was a good verdict this time. The judge in this case had a whole lot to do with it. Judge Ito lost control of his courtroom before. I don't know how anyone could see the evidence and hear the evidence and not find him guilty.''

Diane Arthur, Chesapeake

``I think it's sad because no matter how much money they give the plaintiff, those two people are never going to be on this Earth again.''

Kay Williams, Norfolk

``I agree, but it's a shame they didn't have the same verdict in the first trial.''

Angela Asche, Chesapeake

Disagree:

``I disagree with the verdict. O.J. didn't kill those people. They were killed by drug dealers. This is a disgrace. The man is not guilty. Definitely not guilty.''

Mary Robinson, Chesapeake

``He was already not guilty. And now they make it look like he's guilty again. I don't understand our court system. I don't think he's guilty.''

Jackie Boehm,

Virginia Beach

``I don't think O.J. did it. How can O.J. be liable for their death if he was found innocent in the first trial?''

Sherica Young, Chesapeake

``No amount of money will bring restitution. I see this as just a money maker for both (families) since O.J. takes care of Nicole Brown Simpson's family.''

Tymeka Jennings,

Virginia Beach

``I just don't understand this verdict. It's double jeopardy. There's something really wrong with this legal system.''

Mark Herbkersman, 14,

Virginia Beach
