SOLOMON S. PRUDEN

Solomon S. Pruden, 80, of the 900 block of Garfield St., died Feb. 5, 1997, in Portsmouth General Hospital.

Born in Winton, N.C., he was a retired machinist for the Norfolk Naval Shipyard with 33 years service. He was a member of Mount Calvary Baptist Church, and a member of the Brotherhood, Senior Choir, past superintendent of Sunday School, and past member of Gospel Choir and Male Chorus.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret W. Pruden; a daughter, Maria P. Cross; a sister-in-law, Elsie W. Clanton; a grandchild, Nigel R. Cross; and son-in-law, Ronald H. Cross.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Mount Calvary Baptist Church by the Rev. William S. Hampton. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. Fisher Funeral Home is handling arrangements. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
