RICHARD POPE

Richard ``Sonney'' Pope passed away Feb. 3, 1997, in a Brooklyn, N.Y., hospital.

He was the son of the late John Henry and Willie L. Johnson of Boykins, Va.

He leaves behind two stepsons, Larry and Stanley Perkins; four sisters, Elsie Newell, Rosa M. Walker, both of Norfolk, Gladys Harrell of Portsmouth, Mary Parker of Brooklyn; a brother, Essie Johnson of Norfolk; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
