Carol Elizabeth Wells Carter, 55, of the 900 block of Marque Court, died Feb. 5, 1997, at her residence.
She was born in Charlotte, N.C., but lived most of her life in Princess Anne County and Virginia Beach. She was employed for 20 years by the City of Virginia Beach Public Utilities Department where she was a customer service representative. She was a member of Kempsville Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for 14 years.
Survivors include her husband of 39 years, William T. Carter Jr.; two daughters, Pamela Gail Carter Stone and her husband, Michael T. Stone of Virginia Beach, Susan Carter King and her husband, Barry G. King of Virginia Beach; two sisters, Jacqueline Stover and her husband, Robert Stover of Chesapeake, Alice ``Diane'' Geoghegen and her husband, John M. Geoghegen of Virginia Beach; a brother, James D. Wells and his wife, Marie Wells of Virginia Beach; grandchildren, Christina Leigh, Ashley Elizabeth, Barry Justin (B.J.), Ryan Thomas and Colin Carter; many aunts, uncles, nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her parents, Queenie Harb Wells and George G. Wells, and two brothers, George and Grady Wells.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Kempsville Baptist Church by the Rev. Michael T. Turner. Burial will be in Colonial Grove Memorial Park. Family will be at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, from 7 to 9 p.m. today. Memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society, the building fund of Kempsville Baptist Church or to Sentara Hospice Group. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
