George Norvell Jones, of the 2700 block of Broad St., died Feb. 5, 1997, in Chesapeake General Hospital.
Born in Courtland, Va., he was retired.
Survivors include his wife, Thelma M. Jones; a daughter, China C. Burton of Norfolk; a son, Raymond Champtal of Washington, D.C.; two sisters, Ivory Claude of Hampton, Juanita Pearson of Hackensack, N.J.; three brothers, Bernard Jones of Courtland, Va., Raymond Jones of Philadelphia, Jerry Jones of Chicago; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at noon Saturday in Fitchett Funeral Home, Chesapeake, by the Rev. Anderson W. Clary. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake.
