James River will open paper plant near Moscow

James River Corp. said it will open a plant outside Moscow that will produce 10,000 tons of bathroom tissue and napkins annually. James River said the plant will employ 30 people and expects it to begin operating later this year. The plant will be built with equipment from a Danish factory that was shut down about two years ago, said Celeste Gunter, a James River spokeswoman. The plant is expected to have annual sales of about $25 million, Gunter said. James River has annual European sales of $1.7 billion. (Bloomberg Business News) Ford truck sales continuing to grow

Ford Motor Co.'s Ford division believes truck sales will continue to grow and make up as much as 70 percent of its sales this year, up from 62 percent last year, Ford said. The automaker's F-150 pickup truck, Expedition sport utility and Windstar minivan all posted strong sales in January, while car sales slowed. That trend will continue, spokesman said. The company is adding capacity to meet demand for four-wheel-drive trucks this year, and is boosting planned capacity of the full-size Expedition to 190,000 units from 130,000 units. Shares of Virginia Beach-based International Family Entertainment Inc., parent of The Family Channel, hit a 52-week high for the second straight day Thursday on speculation about a $1 billion sale of IFE. In New York Stock Exchange trading, IFE shares closed at $20.87, up $1.37, after trading as high as $21.62. IFE has declined comment on reports that it is in talks to sell to a consortium of Fox Broadcasting parent News Corp.; cable-programming giant Liberty Media Corp.; and Pat Robertson and his son, Timothy, IFE's chairman and president, respectively.
