James Gibson ``Jimmie'' Boyce, 49, of the 6000 block of Whaleyville Road died Friday, Feb. 7, 1997, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

A supervisor for Driver Contractors Inc., Mr. Boyce was a native of Suffolk and a member of Holy Neck United Church of Christ, Suffolk, Somerton Hunt Club and Portsmouth Shag Club.

Survivors include his two sons, James Travis Boyce and Daniel Clay Boyce, both of Suffolk; mother, Lidie Lee Pearce Boyce of Suffolk; brother, John Charles ``Chuck'' Boyce of Suffolk; aunt, Nina Lee Boyce of Suffolk. He was predeceased by his father, Noah Gibson Boyce.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in Harrell Funeral Home by the Rev. Larry Renfrow and Bert Pearce. Burial will be in Whaleyville United Methodist Church Cemetery, Suffolk. Visitation will be today from 3 to 4 p.m. in the funeral home and other times at the home of Chuck Boyce, 4741 Whaleyville Road. Memorials can be made to the Nansemond-Suffolk Rescue Squad, P.O.
