DOROTHY B. FALCONER

Dorothy B. Falconer, 102, of the 1600 block of Old Donation Parkway died Feb. 7, 1997, in a nursing home.

A retired food service manager with 20 years at the U.S. Naval Base, she was also a former cafeteria manager at Old Hickory High School. She was a native of Latrobe, Pa., and the widow of Ashbel Pearce Falconer. She was a member of Royster Memorial Presbyterian Church, Norfolk, and was the oldest member of the church. She was also a choir member for 30 years and was president of the Women of the Church and Pastor's Aid.

Mrs. Falconer was a member of American Bell Association Tidewater Chapter and O.E.S. - Ocean View Chapter, Adam Thoroughgood Chapter D.A.R. and Norfolk Historical Society.

Survivors include two daughters, Dolly F. McGuirt of Virginia Beach and Hope F. Minor and her husband, J. Parker Minor of Norfolk; eight grandchildren, Dr. Samuel W. Tate of Yorktown, Claude S. Tate III of Virginia Beach, Cmdr. Dorothy Lou Tate of Belleville, Ill., Gale F. Ridgely of Chesapeake, Keith M. McGuirt of Norfolk, Patricia M. Kappel of Severna Park, Md., John F. Minor of Richmond and Ashbel Pearce Falconer III of Chesapeake; 10 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by daughters, Edna F. Tate and Esther M. Falconer, and a son, Ashbel Pearce Falconer Jr.

A memorial service will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Monday in Royster Memorial Presbyterian Church by Dr. John R. Monroe. A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Good Hope United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will be at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, from 3 to 4 p.m. today. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Royster Memorial Presbyterian Church.
