CAREER TRACK

BANKING

David P. Singleton was named manager of Crestar Bank's eastern region upper and middle market section. Singleton, who is a senior vice president, has been a regional credit administrator in the eastern region's loan administration group. He succeeds David A. Durham, who recently transferred to the bank's corporate headquarters in Richmond as commercial credit service manager.

Tonya E. Hanley and Vickie R. Kennedy were promoted to vice presidents at Central Fidelity Bank. Hanley currently serves as manager of the Laskin Road branch in Virginia Beach. She was elected assistant vice president in 1993. Kennedy currently serves as manager of the Greenbrier branch. She was elected assistant vice president in 1994.

Ann Stuart Ramsey was named operations manager at Heritage Bank & Trust, Greenbrier office. She has three years of banking experience.

Also, Ralph R. Chesson will be working in the newly formed mortgage department at the bank's, Military Highway office. He joined the bank in May, 1996.

EDUCATION

John M. Ritz, who chairs Old Dominion University's occupational and technical studies department, was elected president of the Council on Technology Teacher Education, an affiliate of the International Technology Education Association. The council represents technology education instructors at 218 colleges and universities.

HEALTH CARE

Allen C. Watson, a retired senior vice president of First Virginia Bank of Tidewater, succeeds John A.B. Davies Jr. as chairman of the Eastern Virginia Medical School Foundation Development Committee. Davies served three one-year terms as chairman and will remain a member of the school's fund-raising group.

Dr. Jock R. Wheeler, dean and provost of Eastern Virginia Medical School, was named president-elect of the Southern Association of Vascular Surgery.

HOSPITALITY

Teresa Kraemer was named director of sales and marketing for the Days Inn Oceanfront. She previously held this position for the Days Inn Corporate Business Center in Virginia Beach.

LAW

Gregory E. Camden, James G. Hurley Jr. and C. Arthur Rutter III were named partners at Rutter & Montagna in Norfolk. Camden has been an associate with the firm since 1994 and specializes in workers' compensation and Social Security litigation. Hurley, who has been an associate since 1993, specializes in personal injury cases, and Rutter, an associate since 1994, practices in personal injury and railroad litigation.

Jimese L. Pendergraft was elected to chair the employment law section at Knight, Dudley, Clarke & Dolph. She has been with the firm since 1993.

Brent L. Rowlands was named a partner at Ferguson, Rawls, MacDonald, Overton & Grissom in Suffolk and Chesapeake. He will practice in taxation, bankruptcy, business and estate planning. He currently serves as an adjunct professor of law at Regent University where he teaches partnership taxation.

STOCK BROKERAGE

Karen M. Maurer and Christine M. Stiles were named associate vice presidents at Wheat First Butcher Singer. Maurer is an associate financial consultant and Stiles is a registered account administrator for the firm's Williamsburg office.

REAL ESTATE

Helen E. Dragas was appointed chief executive officer and vice chairman of The Dragas Companies. She served as senior vice president since 1995 and as president of Dragas Mortgage Co. since 1988.

Thomas J. Hansen was promoted to president of Dragas. He joined the organization in 1982, and was most recently senior vice president.

Also, John C. Buckley III was named vice president, with responsibility for production. He has been with Dragas since 1984 and has worked as a project manager at various sites since 1987.

The Breeden Co. named Debbie S. Gordon director of marketing for the company's multifamily apartment portfolio, which comprises numerous communities with over 2,000 units. She was national sales manager for Kettler International's Wholesale Furniture division.
