Bruce Thomas Bailey, 73, of Chesapeake Ave., died Feb. 8, 1997, in a Virginia Beach hospital.
A Portsmouth native, he was a planner/estimator for Norfolk Naval Shipyard and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Alice P. Bailey; a daughter, Lynda B. Routten of Hampton; four sons, William L. Pope, Donald C. Pope and Robert J. Pope, all of Portsmouth, and Richard L. Pope of Chesapeake; a brother, Milton E. Bailey of Greenville, N.C.; and five grandchildren.
A funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery. The family will be at 3154 Inlet Road, Virginia Beach. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
