Vivian Roughton Raper, 71, of Providence Road, died in Albemarle Hospital Sunday morning.
She was a native of Elizabeth City and was the daughter of the late Dennis Lee and Annie Brickhouse Roughton. She was a member of the First Christian Church and the Matocca Council No. 10 Degree of the Pocahontas.
She is survived by her husband, Roye V. Raper Sr.; a daughter, Glenda R. Britt of Elizabeth City and a son, R. Vance Raper Jr. of Norfolk; and a granddaughter, Rhonda P. Wood.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Twiford's Memorial Chapel by the Rev. John Luton. Burial will be in the West Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Following the chapel service the family will greet everyone in the lobby of the funeral home. The family will receive friends and relatives at the funeral home today from 7 to 8 p.m.
