GULIELUA S. IVES

Gulielua S. ``Julia'' Ives, 83, of the 2300 block of Burton Drive, died Feb. 8, 1997, in Newport News.

Born in Princess Anne County, she was the widow of James J. Ives Sr. and was a member of Northampton Church of Christ and its Crusader's Class and the Young at Heart. She was a charter member of Lakeview Park Church of Christ, where she taught Sunday School for a number of years. She was a former member of Colonial Heights Church of Christ.

Survivors include two daughters, Joyce I. Perry and husband, Julian, of Virginia Beach and Sandra I. Wright and husband, Howard, of Newport News; a son, James J. Ives Jr. of Virginia Beach; a sister, Olivia ``Polly'' Crouse of Norfolk; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, by Evangelist Michael Kjergaard. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will be at the funeral home at 1 p.m. to greet friends. Memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association or to the American Heart Association.
