David Matthew McSweeney, 20, of the 3500 block of Byrn Brae Drive, died Feb. 8, 1997.
Born in Norfolk, he was an equipment operator for Tri-State Utilities and a member of the Catholic Church He was a graduate of Kempsville High School and was treasurer of Chesapeake Jaycees. He was a member of the Sunbeam Hunt Club.
Survivors include his parents, Jeanne Hunt McSweeney and Steven F. McSweeney; two brothers, Steven Andrew McSweeney and Joe C. McSweeney of Virginia Beach. He is also survived by five loving uncles, four loving aunts and 11 cousins. He is the grandson of the late A.J. and Eileen McSweeney and James C. and Elsie Hunt.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Chapel, by Father Dwight Shrader. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Family will be at the funeral home today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and at other times at the residence.
