MARINE JET CRASHES NEAR S. KOREA; PILOTS MISSING

A U.S. Marine Corps jet on a routine training mission crashed Sunday into the Yellow Sea between China and South Korea.

The two crew members on board the FA-18 Delta are missing, said Jim Coles, spokesman for the U.S. military command in Seoul. Coles would not identify the pilots until their families could be notified.

The jet was on a training mission with another FA-18 jet when it went down, Coles said.

The cause of the crash was not known, Coles said. The other jet landed safely.
