James Williams, of the 800 block of Fremont St., died Feb. 8, 1997, in a local nursing home.
Born in Plymouth, N.C., he was retired from self-employment in transportation service and was a member of First Baptist Church, Bute Street.
Survivors include his wife, Delrease Williams; a brother, Charles Moore of Spartanburg, S.C.; two nephews, Ted Sturgis and Ernald B. Graves; a sister-in-law, Vernetta Sturgis; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in First Baptist Church, Bute St., by Dr. Robert Murray. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Norfolk. The remains will be placed in the church at 9:30 a.m. the day of the service. Also, the family will receive friends at the residence. Graves Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
