The body of a woman found in a townhouse damaged by fire Feb. 1 was identified Monday.
The State Medical Examiner identified the woman as Nancy Bannon, 47, of the 300 block of South French Court.
Her body was found when firefighters and paramedics responded to a townhouse fire shortly after midnight in the same block of South French Court, in the Maple Bay section of the city.
Bannon is believed to have died from heat inhalation.
The case is being investigated by the Virginia Beach Fire Department and Police Department.
