George W. Brown, chairman of the biology department at Norfolk State University, has been named to the board of trustees for the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, the large environmental group announced.
Brown, a Chesapeake resident, will help guide the foundation for the next three years as one of 25 trustees. His expertise is water quality engineering and waste water treatment. Brown also has been active in the Elizabeth River Project, a community-based effort trying to restore the troubled Elizabeth River.
Also named as a trustee is L. Donelson Wright, dean and director of the Virginia Institute of Marine Science, a branch of the College of William and Mary.
