The Tallwood boys track team earned three wins in the track portion of the Beach District indoor track championships to pass first-day leader Salem and claim the district title.
Tallwood's Falanzo Perry won the 55 high hurdles and placed second to teammate James O'Rourke in the 300 dash to pace the Lions, trailing Salem 51 1/4-41 1/4 after the field events Thursday. The Lions also won the 800 relay.
In the girls meet, Bayside built on a considerable first-day lead to easily win the district title, doubling second-place Tallwood 134-67.
The Marlins' Lashonda Cutchin won the 55 and 300 dashes (Bayside provided the top 4 finishers for the 300), while Tallwood's Pam Edwards routed the 1600 and 3200 run fields.
