Harry Kenneth Jackson, 70, went home to be with the Lord on Jan. 27, 1997, at the Veterans Hospital in Richmond.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Blanche Merrick Jackson; two sons, Harold E. Jackson Sr. of Norfolk and Marc A. Jackson Sr. of Texas; three daughters, Sonya L. Thompson of Fluvanna, Velma J. Goff of Dillwyn and Blanche Marlene Thompson of Fluvanna; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. He is now holding in his arms a predeceased infant daughter, Cora Edna Jackson.
Friends and family gathered at Holly Memorial Gardens in Charlottesville on Jan. 30 for a memorial service conducted by Chaplain Carl Netting of Hospice. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Piedmont, 1290 Seminole Trail, Charlottesville, Va. 22901.
