Mary Clay Harcum, 85, of the 2900 block of Ames Cove Drive, entered into eternal rest Feb. 10, 1997.
Retired from Asheville Mica after 25 years of service, Mrs. Harcum was a native of Isle of Wight County and the widow of Jesse Glenn Harcum. She was a member of Windsor Baptist Church and senior adult Sunday school class. She was the daughter of the late Dellie Clay Bradshaw and Zoe Hattie Lankford Bradshaw. She predeceased her sister, Lucy B. Chapman, by 10 hours.
Survivors include her daughters, Mrs. Zoe Ann Evans of Round Pond, Maine, Jessie Virginia Heckenlaible of Suffolk, Mrs. Bernice Tenda of Clarksburg, W.Va., and Mrs. Mary Horne of Newport News; 13 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Harrell Funeral Home by the Revs. Clyde Knuckles and James Crocker. Burial will be in Windsor Cemetery. Friends may join the family in the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today and at other times in the residence.
