William Stott Remick, 33, of the 1400 block of Huntington Crescent, died Feb. 7, 1997, at his residence.
Born in San Diego in 1963, he moved to Norfolk soon thereafter. He attended The Williams School and Ryan Academy. He was co-captain of the Norfolk Catholic High School football team and later attended Maury High School. He served in the U.S. Army in both the U.S. and Germany and later participated in Operation Desert Storm with the 82nd Airborne Division. He spent his last two years in Hampton Roads as a disabled war veteran.
Survivors include his father, retired U.S. Navy Cmdr. William C. Remick of Norfolk; a brother, Clay C. Remick of Corolla, N.C.; uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Edward T. Remick of Richmond; uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas D. Fentress of Southern Pines, N.C.; aunt, Ms. Edith E. Remick of Williamsburg; uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis G. Doom of Islip, N.Y.; and great-aunt, the Rev. Marion Ferguson of Saco, Maine; cousins include Ms. Ann Remick of Norfolk, Mrs. Charlotte Remick Wetzel of Denver, Ms. Katie Remick of Telluride, Colo. and Mr. Tim Remick of Chicago.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in St. Paul's Episcopal Church by the Rev. Richard Reid. Burial will be held at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
