Walter Daniels, 79, of the 5600 block of Tidewater Drive, died Monday, Feb. 10, 1997, in DePaul Medical Center.
A retired longshoreman for the International Longshoreman's Association Local 1248, Mr. Daniels had 33 years of service. He was a native of Hyde County, N.C., and was the son of Abram and Sally Ann Barber Daniels. He was a member of Garden of Prayer Worship Center.
Survivors include his devoted wife of almost 48 years, Jessie M. Daniels of the home; daughter, Brenda M. Sutton; and grandson, Christopher Joel Sutton.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday in Garden of Prayer Worship Center, Virginia Beach Blvd. and Church St., by Bishop L.E. Willis. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Viewing will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Riddick Funeral Service. The body will be placed in the church at 11:30 a.m. Friday.
