HARRY J. FERGUSON

Mr. Harry Joe Ferguson, 62, an Arrowhead Beach resident of the 300 block of Chinook Trail, died Saturday, Feb. 8, 1997, in Chowan Hospital.

A native of Crossett, Ark., Mr. Ferguson was a son of the late Joe Ferguson and Mildred DeLong Ferguson of Crossett and the husband of Joe-Anne Hilferty Ferguson.

Mr. Ferguson retired from the U.S. Navy after serving 20 years and also retired after 20 years from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard. Mr. Ferguson was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church.

Other than his wife and mother, survivors include his daughter, Alice Anne Ferguson of Harrisburg, N.C.; three sons, Harry Joseph Ferguson, Kenneth Raymond Ferguson of Monroe, N.C., and Shawn Ferguson of Wilmington, Del.; sister, Sarah Costen of Warren, Ark.; and three brothers, Bill Ferguson and Robert Ferguson, both of Crossett, and Fred Ferguson of Gulfport, Miss.; and four grandchildren.

A funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday in Evans Funeral Home, Edenton, by Fr. Gene Grabowski. Burial will follow in Beaver Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today.
