Alice Newsom Hollomon, 71, formerly of Norfolk and of Hwy. 158 in Powells Point, N.C., died Friday, Feb. 14, 1997, in an Elizabeth City, N.C., hospital.
She was born in Richmond and was a member of Poplar Branch Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years, D. Hill Hollomon III; a daughter, Sarah E.H. Christian and her husband, the Rev. William K. Christian III; two sons, D.H. ``Skip'' Hollomon IV and James Newsom Hollomon and his wife, Kathleen; four grandchildren, Marie H. Blanks, Michael Hollomon, Tara Hollomon and Matthew Hollomon.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in Poplar Branch Baptist Church, Powells Point, by the Rev. Michael Jordan and the Rev. William K. Christian III. A graveside service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Norfolk.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters or to Poplar Branch Baptist Church, P.O. Box 247, Grandy, N.C. 27939. Cox Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
