The following is a list of Washington-Lincoln Day observances.
Most financial institutions will be closed. City offices and courts
also will be closed.
Garbage collection: Portsmouth will have regular collection,
Suffolk will collect trash Tuesday, and Chesapeake will collect
Wednesday.
Recycling collection: Portsmouth will collect on Monday;
Chesapeake will collect on Wednesday.
Postal service: There will be no regular mail delivery.
State offices: ABC stores will be open regular hours. Department
of Motor Vehicles Customer Service Centers will be closed.
Tidewater Regional Transit: TRT buses will follow a regular
schedule.
