RAYMOND A. HARDY

Raymond A. ``Ray'' Hardy, 64, loving husband of 41 years and devoted father to three children, died Feb. 15, 1997, in a Chesapeake hospital.

Born in Pitt County, N.C., he was an electrician for the The City of Norfolk's Department of Parks and Recreation, retiring with 26 years service. He was also a barber for 17 years. He was a member of Pentecostal Freewill Holiness Church, Greenville, N.C., and had served in the U.S. Army for six years.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley W. Hardy; a daughter, Susan Marie Kerslake of Chesapeake; two sons, Barry R. Hardy of Chesapeake, James Ray Hardy of Virginia Beach; a sister, Hazel Whitehurst of Greenville; two brothers, Johnny Earl Hardy of Grimesland, N.C., and Melvin Hardy of Greenville.

A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Chapel. Burial will be in Pinewood Memorial Park, Greenville. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today.
