George Permar Grantland, 89, died Feb. 14, 1997.
Born in Wilmington, Del., he was the widower of Mary Julia Grantland and a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Hagerstown, Md. He was a retired traveling purchasing agent for Pennsylvania Railroad.
Survivors include a daughter, Janet G. Gross and her husband, Thom H. Gross of Virginia Beach; a son, Charles W. Sleasman and his wife, Barbara Sleasman of Mechanicsville, Md.; two grandchildren, Elizabeth L. Amor and Jennifer L. Hammond.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday in Rosehill Cemetery, Hagerstown. The family suggests that memorials contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
