Johnnie Webb Newsome, 90, of the 300 block of Pembroke Ave., died Feb. 15, 1997, in Hospice House in Monroe.
Mr. Newsome was born in Hertford County and was the widower of Lucille Willis Newsome. He was a retired carpenter and a member of Ahoskie First Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda Newsome Keaton and husband, Phil, and a granddaughter, Leigh Keaton, all of Monroe.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Garrett Funeral Home, Ahoskie, by Dr. Jesse J. Croom. Burial will be in Ahoskie Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home.
