Mildred Lee Worley, 86, died Feb. 16, 1997, in a Suffolk nursing home.
She was formerly of City Park Avenue, Portsmouth. She was a member of St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, Miriam Chapter (NU)94 Order of the Eastern Star, Scottish Rite Ladies and Western Branch, West End and Beazley Senior Citizens Clubs. She was a former 50-year member of Monumental United Methodist Church. She was the widow of Leonard M. Worley and was also predeceased by her first husband M. Daughtrey Brownley.
She is survived by two daughters, Margaret Roane and husband W. Aubrey Roane of Suffolk, Doris Raines and husband Osborne Raines of Eden, N.C.; stepdaughter, Eloise Melton of Chesapeake and stepson, William Worley of Rockingham, N.C.; two brothers, Charles R. Ham of Cresskill, N.J. and W. Bernard Ham of Norfolk; three grandchildren, David William Roane, Nancy Roane Barnard and Anne B. Raines; and five great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in St. Andrew's United Methodist Church by the Rev. Joseph G. Savinsky and the Rev. Raymond Edmonds. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Loving Funeral Home, Churchland, from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and at 5105 Stratford Drive, Suffolk, at other times. The family suggests memorial contributions to St. Andrew's United Methodist Church or Monumental United Methodist Church.
