JOHNNIE H. HOBBS

Johnnie H. Hobbs of the 1000 block of Kenton Ave., died Feb. 14, 1997, in his residence.

He was born in Southampton County, Va., and was the widower of Mary Hobbs. He retired from Texaco and was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of St. Paul's C.M.E. Church and the Male Usher Board.

Survivors include a daughter, Lucy T. Hobbs of Norfolk; an adopted daughter, Regina Butt of Norfolk; two stepdaughters, Minnie Whitfield of Virginia Beach and Willie M. Knight of Norfolk; three grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a special friend, Mrs. Elizabeth Jones; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in St. Paul's C.M.E. Church by the Rev. T.M. McKenney. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. The remains will be ready at 3 p.m. Tuesday. The family will assemble at the residence at 10 a.m. for the procession. Carlos A. Howard Funeral Home is in charge.
