A man was injured Sunday in a fire that destroyed his home in the 800 block of Johnson Ave. in Huntersville.
Clifton Vaughn, 71, was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation, said Jack Goldhorn, a fire department spokesman.
The two-story frame house was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived about 12:40 p.m.
Firefighters quickly contained the blaze and prevented it from spreading to houses on either side.

Fire engulfs the Huntersville house of Clifton Vaughn Sunday
morning. Vaughn was taken to an area hospital for treatment for
smoke inhalation. Although the house, with about $50,000 in damage,
was destroyed, firefighters kept the fire from spreading to
neighboring houses.
