Estelle Mae ``GaGa'' Gregory, 91, died Feb. 16, 1997. She was a lifelong resident of Virginia Beach. She was born in Princess Anne County. Estelle was the widow of Sidney J. Gregory.
She is survived by her daughter, Alice G. Caffee and her husband, Garland; her granddaughter, Sandy A. Calvert and her husband, Martin; two great-grandsons, David S. Weber and his wife, Rachel, Michael G. Weber and a great-great-grandson, Sammy Sullivan; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy W. Gregory and Estelle G. Cruser of Virginia Beach. She was predeceased by her sister, Gertrude S. Russell of Virginia Beach. She is also survived by and loved by many nieces, nephews and friends, who will remember her as always being a lady. She and her husband, Sidney, owned and operated Gregory's Grocery Store from 1931-41. They also owned and operated Lynnhaven Diner during the 1940s.
During World War II, she was a volunteer for the Red Cross and knitted sweaters for the troops. She was in the class of 1924 at Oceana High School. She was a longtime member of the Lynnhaven United Methodist Church. She will always be known for her love of fishing on the Lynnhaven River.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Princess Anne Plaza Rescue Squad and Alzheimer's Association. The family will receive friends in Kellum Funeral Home, Rosewood Chapel, today from 7 to 9 p.m.
