BEVERLY F. SIMMONS

Beverly F. ``Uncle B'' Simmons, 81, passed away Feb. 17, 1997, in Southampton Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Simmons was born in Holland, Va., and was a lifelong resident of Southampton County. An Army veteran, he served in New Guinea in World War II. He was the son of the late Charlie F. and Annie White Simmons and was predeceased by his brother, Randolph Simmons, and a sister, Catherine S. Smith.

Survivors include his niece, Mary S. Worrell of Franklin; a great-niece, Kathy Worrell of Franklin; a great-nephew, Bill Worrell, and his wife, Ann, of Norfolk, and their children, Mary and Daniel, who were the joy of Uncle B's life.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Polar Spring Cemetery by the Rev. James X. Camak. Friends may join the family at the residence, 717 Fairview Drive. Memorials can be made to the Franklin Fire and Rescue Squad. Wright Funeral Home is in charge.
