ATLANTIC STRIPER SEASON FOR BASS CLOSED MONDAY

The Atlantic Ocean Trawl Fishery for striped bass closed at 6 p.m. Monday.

As of Thursday approximately 102,924 of the 164,000-pound allocation for the trawl fishery had been met. Therefore, fisheries officials said it is projected that this fishery will reach the quota quickly and the fishery must be closed, even with efforts to work with fishermen to try to develop strategies to extend the season as much as possible.
