Bernice Gordon Harris, 66, died Monday, Feb. 17, 1997, in Louise Obici Memorial Hospital, Suffolk.
Mrs. Harris was a member of Burton's Grove Christian Church, Wakefield, and a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Waverly Volunteer Rescue Squad.
She is survived by her husband, Harold Walter Harris; son, Harold James Harris of Waverly; daughter, Gail Jones and her husband, Shelton Earl Jones of Waverly; two sisters, Mary G. Wells of Petersburg and Linda G. Cook of Ivor; two grandchildren, Shelton Dale Jones of Waverly, Shelby Gail Francis of Courtland; and two great-grandchildren, D.J. and Crissy Francis.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield, by the Rev. Charles Walters. Burial will be in Waverly Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Waverly Volunteer Rescue Squad.
