Carol Carlson Ling, 59, of the 7700 block of N. Shirland Ave., died Feb. 15, 1997, in a local hospital.
Mrs. Ling was a native of New York, N.Y. She received her undergraduate degree from The University of Delaware and her Master's Degree from Virginia Polytechnic Institute. She was a registered dietician and taught at Eastern Virginia Medical School. Most recently, she was employed at The Hofheimer-Nusbaum Law Library. She was an avid golfer and bridge player who achieved ACBL, Life Master.
Survivors include a son, Mark D'Onofrio of Wilmington, Del.; a stepdaughter, Linda Ling Hickerson; two stepsons, Jim and John Ling; a sister, Susan C. Wimmers of Erial, N.J.; and six grandchildren, Sarah and Allison D'Onofrio, Amber Ling and Morgan Ling, Brian Hickerson and Amy Thurlow.
A memorial service will be conducted at 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 23, 1997, at H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Norfolk Chapel, by the Rev. Nancy Wood. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2730 Ellsmere, Norfolk, Va. 23518.
