Gladys E. Robertson, 66, of the 1900 block of Des Moines Ave. died Feb. 14, 1997, in Maryview Hospital.
A Pendleton, N.C., native, she was a member and deaconess of St. John Baptist Church, Portsmouth, and the senior choir.
Survivors include her husband, Deacon Willie L. Robertson; three sisters, Theresa Gaye of Conway, N.C., Laura Joyner of Chesapeake and Julia Harris of Newport News; two brothers, Alfred Joyner of Wilson and Quient Joyner of Conway; mother-in-law, Emma Robertson of Portsmouth; two sisters-in-law, Mary Joyner and Irene Bowman, both of New York; six brothers-in-law, Larry Robertson, Marvin Robertson and Elijah Robertson and Ed Lewis Robertson, all of Portsmouth, Willie Thomas Robertson of Washington, D.C., and Johnnie L. Harris of Newport News; aunt and uncle, Otelia and Charlie Deloatch of New Jersey; nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and many other relatives and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in St. John Baptist Church, Portsmouth, by the Rev. Robert Earls. Burial will be in Lincoln Memorial Cemetery, Portsmouth. Viewing at Corprew Funeral Home will begin at noon today. The body will be taken to the church at 9:30 a.m. Thursday.
