Roy Jasper Wilson, 69, of the 900 block of Lasser Drive, died Saturday, Feb. 15, 1997, in his home.
A brick mason, Mr. Wilson was self-employed with Wilson Masonry for 31 years of service before his retirement six years ago. A native of Greene County, Snow Hill, N.C., Mr. Wilson was a member of Mount Gilead Baptist Church, Norfolk, and a member of Mount Gilead Baptist Church Senior Choir.
Survivors include his two daughters, Sandra Kay Hinton and Sabrina Wilson-Street, both of Virginia Beach; and two sons-in-law, Ronald Hinton and Roy Street Jr., both of Virginia Beach; sisters, Icerlean Freeman of Norfolk, Jeannette Wilson and Dorothy Graham of Kinston, N.C.; grandchildren, Cicely and Ronald Hinton Jr. and Brittany and Jada Street, all of Virginia Beach. He was predeceased by his wife, Bettie L. Wilson; parents, Alice Wilson and Shephard Wilson; a sister, Ruby Plymouth; and brother, Clinton Wilson.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday in Mount Gilead Baptist Church, Norfolk, by the Rev. Raymond Dean. Burial will be in Rosewood Memorial Park Cemetery. Hale Funeral Home is in charge.
