Earl Jacob Cross, accused in the Saturday murder of Beatrice L.
Jefferson in Portsmouth, turned himself in to police on Sunday and
is in jail. The Virginian-Pilot reported Tuesday that he was
missing. Police did not make information regarding Cross' status
available prior to the publication of the story.
