IRENE C. NEVINS

Irene C. ``Ma'' Nevins, 90, of Suffolk, a retired cashier with the Dodge store in Norfolk, died Feb. 18, 1997, in a Norfolk hospital.

Mrs. Nevins was a native of Pulaski, Va. She was the widow of John Hoey Nevins. She was preceded in death by a son, John William Nevins.

Survivors include two sisters, Ellen O'Dell of Davidsonville, Md., Virginia Young of Christiansburg, Va.; four grandchildren, Carol Alphin of Suffolk, Betty Capps and John William Nevins Jr., both of Virginia Beach, Allyson Sandifer of Columbia, S.C.; and four great-grandchildren, Cammie Capps, Rebecca Nevins, Kyle Sandifer and Greer Sandifer. Mrs. Nevins had been a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

A graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 20, 1997, at Princess Anne Memorial Park by the Rev. Rick Hocker. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts. Laskin Road Chapel, is handling arrangements.
