Frances Tunstall Rawls, 83, of the 2300 block of Upper Greens Place, died in a local nursing home Feb. 19, 1997.
A retired loan processor with Crestar Bank, Mrs. Rawls was born in Chesterfield County, Va. She was the widow of Karl W. Rawls Sr. She was a member of Credit Professionals International and was a Methodist.
Survivors include her stepdaughter, Helen H. Rawls of Lynchburg, Va.; two stepsons, K.W. Rawls Jr. and his wife, Wanda, of Virginia Beach and Richard D. Rawls and his wife, Poppy, also of Lynchburg; two sisters-in-law, Iva Lee Tunstall of Richmond and Louise R. Browne of Whaleyville, Va.; a brother-in-law, Robert E. Rawls of Chesapeake; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at noon Friday in Gatesville Cemetery, Gatesville, by the Rev. Mark J. Bender. Friends may join the family for visitation from 7 to 8 p.m. today in Altmeyer Funeral Home.
