MABLE LEE SUTTON

Mable Lee Sutton, 88, of the 3500 block of Commonwealth Ave., died Feb. 19, 1997, in her residence.

A native of Greenville, N.C., she was the widow of Roy L. Sutton Sr. and a retired bookkeeper for S.S. Kresge with 25 years of service. She was a member of Lee Memorial Baptist Church, Ladies of the Moose (NU)898, Simonsdale Homemaker Club and Pythian Sisters.

Survivors include a daughter, Lila M. Cox and her husband, Fred, of Portsmouth; a son, Linwood Sutton and his wife, Maria, of Portsmouth; 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by Dr. Ray O. Jones. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday in the funeral home and at other times at the home of her son, 4600 Widgeon Circle, Portsmouth. Memorial donations may be made to Lee Memorial Baptist Church.
