John William Fuhrmann, 66, of the 1900 block of Wilroy Road, died Feb. 19, 1997, in his residence.
Born in Camden, N.J., he was a retired display manager for Montgomery Ward and a member of Magnolia United Methodist Church, Suffolk and its Pioneer Sunday School class. He was also a member of Tidewater Rose Society and Fleet Reserve Association Branch No. 40. A senior chief radioman of U.S. Navy with 20 years service, he was a veteran of the Korean war.
Survivors include his wife, Lois Grant Fuhrmann; a son, John L. Fuhrmann and daughter-in-law, Robin; two sisters, Ruth F. Norman of Poway, Calif., Dorothy F. Garcia of North Port, Fla.; two grandchildren, Johnathon and Jesse Fuhrmann. He was predeceased by his parents, Hedwig Komandt and John Alois Fuhrmann.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Magnolia United Methodist Church by the Rev. Clyde D. Nuckols. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today in Harrell Funeral Home and at other times at the residence. Memorials may be made to the Magnolia UMC Building Fund, 1764 Wilroy Road, Suffolk, Va. 23434.
