MAE E. WILLIAMS

Mae Ellen Williams, 84, of the 300 block of Cobb St., died Wednesday, Feb. 19, 1997, in Southampton Memorial Hospital.

A native of Southampton County, she was predeceased by her parents, James E. Chambliss and Carrie Chambliss, and her husband, Matthew Williams. She was a member of East End Church of God and the Missionary Band, Mother's Board and Unity Band Choir.

Survivors include two sons, Matthew R. Williams of Franklin and Micheal S. Williams of San Diego; four daughters, Carolyn Willis, Margaret Reid, Nellie Rogers of Franklin and Linda Jeffries of Pensacola, Fla; two brothers, Jessie Chambliss and Clarence Chambliss of Franklin; two sisters, Odell White of Baltimore and Eva H. Butts of Franklin; 12 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

A funeral will be conducted at noon Saturday in East End Church of God by Bishop S.D. Willis. Burial will be in Southview Cemetery. Elvin Vaughan Funeral Home is in charge.
