Leo Carr, 69, of the 2800 block of Galberry Road, died Feb. 18, 1997, in Maryview Hospital, Portsmouth.
A retired mechanic for the Portsmouth City Public School System, Mr. Carr was a Pitt County, N.C., native and member of Mount Sinai R.Z.U.A. Church, Portsmouth.
Survivors include his wife, Eunice O. Carr; seven daughters; three stepdaughters; five sons; a stepson; sister, Evelyn Swain of Maryland; two brothers, Clarence Ebron and wife, Mary Lee Ebron, and Willie B. Carr and wife, Sally Ann Carr, all of North Carolina; a host of grandchildren; uncle, Clinsey Carr of Bethel, N.C.; two aunts, Alice Jean Pervis and Ruth Hardin.
A funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday in Mount Sinai R.Z.U.A. Church, Portsmouth, by the Rev. David Johnson Sr. Burial will be in Lincoln Memorial Cemetery, Portsmouth. Viewing at Corprew Funeral Home, Portsmouth, will begin at noon today. The body will be taken to the church at 2 p.m. Saturday.
