Mary P. Anthony, 90, passed away Thursday, Feb. 20, 1997, after a short illness.
The daughter of the late Rev. and Mrs. Photios Orphanides, Mrs. Anthony was born in Flamoudi, Famagusta, Cyprus, Sept. 7, 1906. She immigrated to the U.S. with her late husband, Peter Anthony, in 1935. After spending 12 years in New York City, the family moved to Norfolk in 1947. She was a member of the Norfolk ``Annunciation'' Greek Orthodox Church, and a member of the Philoptochos Society.
Survivors include her beloved sons, Tony P. Anthony of Newport News, Photios P. Anthony of Norfolk and Leo P. Anthony of Virginia Beach; granddaughters, Kathy Lee Collins of Ruther Glen, Va., Melissa C. Anthony of Los Angeles, Tina M. Anthony and Cassandra K. Anthony of Virginia Beach; grandsons, Perry C. Anthony of Cleveland, Greg Anthony, Michael Anthony and Philip N. Anthony of Virginia Beach; daughter-in-law, Marika E. Anthony of Newport News; and former daughters-in-law, Paula Anthony, Carol Anthony and Tricia Anthony of Virginia Beach.
A prayer service will be conducted at 7 p.m. today in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, by Father Dr. Constantine Rogakos. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 7220 Granby St., Norfolk, with the Rev. Fathers Dr. Constantine Rogakos and Charles Goumenis of Norfolk and Peter Makris and Steve Dalber of Newport News. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Norfolk.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to the building fund of the ``Annunciation'' Greek Orthodox Church, 7220 Granby St., Norfolk, Va. 23505.
