Eva Maie Harris, 86, died Feb. 19, 1997, in Riverside Rehabilitation Institute.
The retired director of Christian education at River Road Presbyterian Church, Richmond, she served 44 years before retiring in 1975. She was a native of Isle of Wight County and a charter member and elder of Bethany Presbyterian Church, Zuni. Upon graduation from the Presbyterian School of Christian Education in Richmond, she served at Knox Presbyterian Church, Norfolk, Spartanburg Presbyterian Church, South Carolina, and First Presbyterian Church, Charlotte, N.C.
Survivors include a sister-in-law, Lillian Byrd Harris of Hampton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Hollylawn Cemetery, Suffolk, by the Rev. John P. Hartman. Visitation will be today from 7 to 9 p.m. in Riverside Funeral Home, Newport News.
