John K. Hogue of the 1500 block of Mill Dam Road died Feb. 17, 1997.
A native of Shelby, N.C., he was the widower of W. Ruth Hogue and a member of First Lynnhaven Baptist Church, Virginia Beach, and the usher board, men's fellowship, adult church school class No. 8. He was also a member of Oceana Masonic Lodge No. 69 P.H.A.
Survivors include daughter, Gwendolyn Williams of Virginia Beach; son, James Hogue of Hendersonville, N.C.; four sisters, Mary London of Washington, D.C., Georgia McCray of High Point, N.C., Virginia Roper of Greensboro, N.C., and Jessie Moore of Greenville, S.C.; brother, L. Benjamin Hogue of High Point; six grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in First Lynnhaven Baptist Church, Virginia Beach, by the Rev. Edgar Williams Jr. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Community Funeral Home, Virginia Beach, is in charge.
